To the left are several example morphs, to give you an idea of what can be done with a $5, $15, and $30 dollar morph. (Morphs pictured are resized to allow for faster loading speed of this page. Actual morphs are typically about twice as wide and high as featured here.)
$5 morphs are about 10 minutes of work. Simple picture-to-picture transitions, usually of similar posturing, somewhat basic, but also economical. All morphs, regardless of price, are hosted on my server, which you are free to use as a 'backup' copy, should your computer crash, or as the website from which to post your image online. If you're on a budget, this could be the way to go.
$15 dollar morphs take a little more time; 30 minutes. The picture transitioning into the football player used multiple frames to more smoothy change the image from one to another, as well as adding an element of motion. The picture transitioning into cats involved two subjects to morph, and also some intermediate frame changes to make it a bit smoother. It's still economical, but allows for a little more activity and more differences between the two picture subjects.
$30 morphs make something more special, I'll spend an hour on them. The Silver surfer involved some photoshopping elements, a total of 7 different pictures were used. The other involved just 4 pictures, but needed 5 frames to 'wrap' around again to the original picture without having to go back through the two intermediate pictures to get back to the first. It also involved more points of morphing than the Silver Surfer. It's a little more expensive, but also gives a more showy result.
Depending on one's budget, morphs can be even longer (I've done a compellation of nearly 200 pictures which you can see
here, and which took over 30 hours to complete nearly a year ago, before I'd upgraded my software and when I only had 6 months practice--yet it's still really cool).
